Analysis of the activities of the "Cardioprogress" foundation: results of 2021

Dear colleagues!

In 2021, a number of significant events took place in cardiology.

Due to the continuation of restrictive measures, most scientific events were organized online. This required adaptation and the acquisition of new skills. However, all planned events took place.

Regional events

In 2021, the Cardioprogress Foundation, together with colleagues from Russian regions and the CIS countries, organized four conferences of a regional scale, two federal and one international scientific event. Regional events were held in autumn. These are annual two-day scientific and educational conferences: the V Scientific and Educational Conference of Cardiology and Internal Medicine "Golden Ring" (Vladimir), the Conference of Cardiology and Internal Medicine of the Caucasus (Nalchik), the Interregional Conference of Cardiology and Internal Medicine of the Volga District (Saransk) and the Conference on comorbidity in cardiology ( Saint Petersburg).

Russian events

In 2021, together with the Omsk State Medical University, the All-Russian Interuniversity Conference "Non-Infectious Epidemics of the 21st Century" was established and organized with the participation of young scientists, which was a great success. In the same year, taking into account the relevance of the problem of coronovirus infection and interaction with chronic non-communicable diseases, the All-Russian Online Conference of the same name was organized. The scientific program involved cardiologists, pulmonologists, endocrinologists, oncologists and clinical pharmacologists. This format received a great response, and the organizers decided to hold this event in 2022 as well.

International events

From March 23 to March 25, the next anniversary X International Forum of Cardiology and Internal Medicine took place. This academic event brings together all the leading medical schools in Russia and the CIS countries. The main goal of the forum is the development of regional clinical science, creating an opportunity for all clinicians and researchers to present research results on equal terms and interact with colleagues for cooperation.

International Studies

In 2021, several studies were initiated with the participation of our colleagues from the CIS countries on the management of patients with CVD and other chronic diseases under quarantine and self-isolation. The priority direction is the study of comorbidity in clinical practice.

Traditionally, based on the results of the European Congress of Cardiology, the Cardioprogress Foundation prepares a press release with a summary of the results of international studies and updates the book of the same name, which has been published since 2010. It is posted on the website of the Cardioprogress Foundation and is available for download.

International Heart and Vascular Diseases Journal

According to the plan, four issues of the International Heart and Vascular Diseases Journal (issues 29, 30, 31 and 32) have been published in Russian and English. In 2021, the list of reviewers was expanded, a package of documents was prepared for inclusion in two international databases, and an agreement was signed with NEB CyberLeninka to receive and assign DOI to published articles. In the same year, the journal's website was reconstructed, all issues and published articles are in the public domain for review and download. Convenient links in Russian and English have been prepared for citing articles. The section “Thematic links” has also been updated, that is, all published articles are distributed by direction.

Personnel changes

Professor Grigory G. Arabidze was elected Vice-President of the Cardioprogress Foundation, Professor Sergey G Kanorsky was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the International J Heart and Vascular Diseases Journal.

Plans for 2022

In 2022, it is planned to hold all annual regional, all-Russian and international scientific events. A number of projects and multicenter studies on comorbidity and prevention of cardiovascular diseases are planned. It is planned to publish 4 issues of the International Journal of Heart and Vascular Diseases (33, 34, 35 and 36 issues).

The team of the Cardioprogress Foundation expresses gratitude to all colleagues for their support and active interaction. We are still open for cooperation.
